Thumb sucker

Bailey has become a thumb sucker! As soon as she gets upset or sleepy in goes the thumb! I think it is adorable! However I'm pretty sure I will think otherwise when she is 5 and still sucking! I am hoping it will be easy for her to give it up as she gets older. But for now she is self soothing and sleeping 11 hours straight! I am getting some glorious sleep!

We are loving the beautiful breezy sunshine! Soaking it all in until the Texas heat hits us! We have been going for walks every day when I get home from work. Here she is in the carrier. (she has recently refused to ride in the stroller)

Stranger Anxiety

Bailey has developed a bit of stranger anxiety or perhaps separation anxiety..... She will not let anyone but Daddy and I hold her! Both Grandmas can hold her if they let her get used to them first but they are about the only 2 people she will go to... It is rough! I take her to the church nursery on Thursday nights for my bible/book study and she HATES it! This week when we walked in she knew immediately what was going to happen. She took one look at those ladies and started screaming her head off! I feel like she is too young to remember but I know for sure she knew! My brother Matt tried and tried Wednesday night to hold her and she threw a fit each time! As soon as she gets back into one of our arms she is completely happy and content! (I secretly love the feeling of knowing I am her comfort)
I always said "I will pass my baby around so she will be used to people." " I want my baby to go to anyone!" Ha! She has a mind of her own! I feel like we did a great job of letting people hold her it's just that she stays home with us all day every day so we are all she knows! I hope she gets past this phase soon. I think she is hurting people's feelings.
I never did update on how her 4 month appt went and she is almost 5 months. She weighed in at 13.75 lbs and was 27 inches long! The Dr said she was doing great! She is very social- despite not letting people hold her. She will smile and talk to people all day as long as they don't try to grab her! She is loving all her home made baby food. We tried bananas and avocado tonight and she was like a little bird trying to reach for a worm. It is the cutest thing to see her eat!

Valentine's Day and the Zoo

We had an absolutely fabulous weekend! Bailey and I took a much needed 4 hour nap on Saturday and we lounged in PJ's all day! It was amazing! Jared and I watched movies and then went to bed super early! I felt so much better this weekend with all that sleep... and now it's Monday and I am already exhausted!

Sunday was another great day! The weather was gorgeous so we hit the zoo after church. This was B's first awake trip to the zoo. She really enjoys the stroller now and was happy the whole trip just to roll around staring at people. She did like watching the fish swimming in the Hippo tank!

 Jared had to work tonight so Bailey and I celebrated Valentine's Day together! We went for a long walk through the neighborhood and visited with some neighbors outside. She is eating solids now and I fed her her favorite- bananas and cereal. She is now sleeping soundly! Time for some HGTV while I wait for Jared. Happy Valentine's Day!

Snow in San Antonio!!!!

Bailey saw her first snow! She didn't care for it at all! Her poor little hands turned bright red! We were only outside of r 3 minutes! Snow in SA means the city shuts down~ so no school for me! Yay! Enjoying the day with Bailey!
