The Piercing

So after much consideration we decided to pierce B Bug's ears! I was so worried it would be a devastating ordeal for all involved but it went really well! We got to the piercing place and immediately had an audience of teens who wanted to see a baby get pierced. Some looked like they wanted to cry for her. Bailey happily played in my arms while Daddy video'd the whole thing. She didn't mind the lady cleaning her ears and was so blissfully unaware of what was coming next. I had to hold her down and then the lady did it! The little gun made a loud click and we were done.... with that ear! I calmed her and we quickly did the next! She only cried for 5 seconds per ear and we haven't had any pain since! Even when I clean them she doesn't seem to feel any pain.  I am glad we did it and now she has beautiful little pink gems in her ear. Apparently this is October's gem although it is really an opal. I think only old ladies wear opals..... Here are a few pics of her special day!

These last 3 are of her rolling over!

Life is Fabulous

We had a great quiet weekend here in the Dean household! Kyleigh was here and we baked in here Easy Bake Oven (not so easy by the way), played dolls, and of course cuddled up on Bailey! The 2 girls are really starting to look just alike!

This is a picture of them right before church this past Sunday. It seems easier when Kyleigh is here~ she can hold B and keep her entertained while I get stuff done. I started making baby food for her this weekend and I am so excited. My first recipes were organic peas, and bananas with peaches.  I am going to make apples and chicken with apples tonight. I can't wait for Bailey to get to eat it! We are going to start early at 4 months. She sits up, holds head really well, and seems starving and in need of more than just milk. I know many websites say to wait but Im the Momma and I am making this executive decision. She has tasted a bit of cereal and can swallow and basically lunges at the spoon for more. I feel confident in my decision!

Another thing I have been pondering is getting her ears pierced. Both of our families think we should wait but I am all about getting it over with. Many kids mess with them and don't take care of them when they get older. Doing now while she is an infant I can be in charge of turning them and cleaning them. My friend recently pierced her daughters ears and the pain only lasted an instant and it is now done for life. No troubles at all! We shall see what I decide.

I would also like to publicly thank Jared for being such a great Daddy! He is so helpful and he and B are so close! I love the bond that they will have! Here is a great shot of the two of them playing and talking!

Here is one more shot of my beautiful princess all sacked out on Daddy after a nice long walk in this beautiful South Texas weather! Life is just too perfect! Thank you Lord for all our blessings!

Oh and on another exciting note~ we just got a new (used) car. We got a Toyota Sequioa and are loving all the room we now have! Car seats are fitting so much better than in our Corolla!

Love Birds

This is my good friend Casey's little guy- Colton! They are 2 days apart! I just love this picture! It would be so cool if they grew up as friends and could say I have known him since I was 3 weeks old! ;) And then if they got married....haha

Sleep

Now I know that this is something all parents go through and many would tell me to suck it up but.... I MISS sleeping! I love to sleep, Jared loves to sleep, but our angel baby does not. She isn't a horrible sleeper like I've heard others can be it's just the natural waking time that most babies go through. I thought somewhere way back in my mind that naturally my child would be one of the few who sleep through the night at 4 weeks. HA! I literally get jealous of people who get to sleep. Like when I was leaving my parents house last night~ when I pulled out into the cold rain I had a twinge of jealousy that they were going back in their warm home and would probably go to sleep soon and get to stay asleep. Is this normal? Should I feel jealous? I just want to sleep for 9 hours straight! When will I be able to partake in this favorite past time of mine? I hear many horror stories of 10 months old and still waking up every 3 hours. Now that I am actually complaining about this I'm sure she will never sleep through the night! I should stop really but I had to complain to someone! Why not everyone? I even *gasp* put cereal in her bottle upon much urging from a friend..... it didn't work just like all the websites told me it wouldn't. I had to try though. I remember saying this whole waking to pee thing when I was pregnant was there to prepare me for waking to feed a baby. NOT! In no way did it prepare me to wake up every 3 hours for 30-45 minutes at a time.
I love being a mommy I just wish I could sleep and I know one day I will. I just had to get this off my chest and out in the blogging world! Now I feel better. On another note Bailey is rolling over! I put her on her play mat and laid her on her back to go make dinner. Jared called from the other room "Babe did you lay her on her tummy?" Yup my amazing baby rolled over and of course she was mad! She hates being on her tummy! It seems to be a regular thing now, only we don't know why cause she hates to be on her tummy! She can't go from her tummy to her back which I hear is what they normally do first. So we always end up putting her back to her back. Silly girl! Love her!

10 on Tuesday.....My first one!

1. I was very productive today! Swept, mopped, and made delicious chicken soup.

2. I think Bailey has her first bit of sickness- running nose and runny eye. Might just be a blocked tear duct though! Does that still happen at 3 months?

3. Jared starts a new job tomorrow and I am so excited for the extra money! It is close to home so I won't have to rush home so he can beat traffic.

4. Bailey loves her Daddy so much- when ever he walks into a room and/or speaks he has her full attention. She just lights up!

5. I am getting a new student at school who only speaks Mandarin. Im a little nervous but also excited for a new challenge. Im sure Im not nearly as nervous as she is.

6. I love my puppies. They have been so good and patient with us. They used to be our babies but now they have been pushed aside! They are currently curled up together keeping warm.

7. Lately I have been wishing I had become a nurse. I want to be a neo-natal nurse but I def. don't want to go back to school (plus Im not smart enough to pass all that science).

8. I am so ready for this little girl to go to sleep longer at nights. She is still waking up every 3-4 hours to eat. She only eats 4 oz at a time so that doesn't hold her over. Im sure if she ate more she could do it. She eats on demand as if she was still nursing. Not sure but I dont see an end in sight!

9. Lately I have been contemplating quitting pumping and just doing formula. It is so time consuming at work. I could sleep an extra 15 minutes in the AM and at night I am so exhausted I never want to pump again. I have decided to suck it up and keep going. I just refilled my prescription and bought more storage bags! I WILL make it to 6 months!!!! I am determined! I always imagined nursing my children for a year but 6 months seems good at this point. She won't latch anymore so Im really having a hard time producing.

10. I made it. Sorry my 10 things were so boring but it was my first try!

And I can hear my adorable baby already waking up~ better go feed her one more time!

Day at the Park

It's a Kyleigh weekend and we have been having a great time! Both girls and I were up early just hanging out. Kyleigh finally got to play with her Christmas toys and Bailey took a nice long nap. We went to lunch and had burgers then hit the park. We took the girls to McCallister. Of course Bailey can't play but Ky had a great time. Bailey went on her first hike and wasn't too impressed but she did see her first deer (at least I think she saw it). Here are a few pics of our perfect day!

Both girls and Daddy are already asleep! I think I will go join them!

Bailey's Firsts!

This time of year was really a fun time to have a baby! We had our first Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and now New Year's! Christmas was fabulous! Bailey and Kyleigh were both totally spoiled on both sides! We hardly bought Bailey anything and spoiled Kyleigh rotten- this was our first time having Ky on Christmas morning and we wanted it to be special for her! I only got a Bailey a few small toys. I did get her an excersaucer which was supposed to be from Santa. I pulled it out Christmas morning and said "Look what I found for Bailey!" Kyleigh replies " yea I saw that hiding back there last week!" Glad I didn't announce it was from Santa or we would have ruined her Santa fantasy! She did ask why Santa forgot about Bailey~ I came up with a lame excuse that she didn't ask him for anything. It all went over Ky's head!
Aunt Erin and her 2 nieces!

                                  Cutest Stocking Stuffer!
                                      Kyleigh Christmas morning
She said the "Easy baking oven is my favorite!"
Playing in her new Bumbo from Aunt Marie, Uncle Adam, and their kiddos!
                                    Santa's gift to B-Bug!

New Year's Eve was a ton of fun! We went to Jared's families' house for their annual NYE celebration! This year we played Pictionary and the losers had to sing Karaoke. My team won! TWICE! woot woot! We decided to call it a night and head home around 10 to put Bailey to bed. She was starting to fuss a bit. She went down easily but I was on pins and needles as the fireworks began! She slept right through thankfully! The poor dogs weren't nearly as peaceful! They whined all night.

All these firsts have been wonderful! I love having a child of my own to celebrate with! I can't wait for the many more years of celebrating and seeing the wonder in her eyes! The one hard part was not being able to enjoy eating the usual holiday meals! Jared and I have to take turns and each meal is usually rushed so the next one can eat. I know that in the near future though mealtime wont be rushed and I can enjoy it again! lol
